The Royal Oak Planning Commission has approved permits for a new Beef A Roo location at 3303 Rochester Rd. The space was previously occupied by Blenderz Smoothies & Bowls, and Fresh Healthy Cafe prior to that.

The upcoming quick service restaurant is owned and operated by local franchisee Mitch Rosen. In addition to being a franchisee, Rosen is also founder and CEO of SFV Services, the franchise’s designated national general contractor in charge of all store buildouts. That said, it only seemed to make sense for Rosen to join the brand’s franchisee family.

Beef A Roo currently has 18 locations in total, two of which are in Michigan in St. Helen and Rose City, according to the company’s website. The Royal Oak Beef A Roo will be the brand’s 3rd Michigan location. Founded in 1967, the brand offers “classic roast beef, wraps, specialty sandwiches, burgers, chicken & turkey sandwiches, soups & salads, and a selection of heart-healthy foods” with gluten-free options, a breakfast menu, and limited-time seasonal specials.

Rosen told What Now Detroit that he hopes to open the restaurant by mid-August.
