A Greek-American owned cafe is coming to the Downriver suburb soon.
Mazee is a new coffee shop and creamery coming to 2975 W Jefferson Avenue in Trenton. This is the former Elizabeth Perk Coffee & Ice Cream location. An opening date has not been announced, but it will arrive sometime this spring.
The first post from Mazee came a couple weeks ago, in which staff announced their new shop is coming to downtown Trenton. In the post, staff expressed their excitement to be a part of the community, and that they will be serving Guernsey farms ice cream and coffee locally brewed in the state.
“As Downriver natives, we are thrilled to contribute and give back to a community that has given us so much,” says the post.
The name Mazee means “together” in Greek, symbolizing their sharing of Greek culture in the area. The listed owner is Ioannis Korogiannis, who has not yet responded to What Now Detroit’s request for comment.
The coffee shop and creamery will be at the corner of W Jefferson and Walnut Street in downtown Trenton. This is across the street from RiverTown Tavern and Mamacitas Mod Mex. Elizabeth Park, a popular spot right on the Detroit River, is also close-by.
The team will be providing updates on the opening date for Mazee on both Instagram and TikTok in the coming weeks.
