The Japanese hibachi chain is continuing to expand in Southeast Michigan.

A new Ichiban location was recently listed on the Michigan Business Entity search, and it is set to open at 31149-31179 Mound Road in Warren. The restaurant will be a concept called IchibanGO, which is a fast-casual version of the restaurant. According to a representative from the company, the location will be opening at the end of this year or beginning of next year.

IchibanGO is being run by Ichiban Hospitality Inc. The company already has locations in Ann Arbor, Sterling Heights, Jackson and Taylor. It will not be a steakhouse, but more of a casual concept with hibachi foods. There is no word on additional locations opening in Michigan.

“Hibachi your way,” is the slogan for IchibanGo. Those who are ordering can choose a bowl or burrito, then a protein like chicken, steak, shrimp or tofu, then add veggies and sauces. While ordering will be in store, it is also offered online.

The timeline of opening right now is uncertain, as construction will last four-to-six months and the interior needs renovations. Other restaurants that will be in the same area include Pita Way, Dave’s Hot Chicken and Green Lantern Pizza. This is at the northwest corner of Warren.
