Two local chefs are bringing shawarma dishes to a town south of Ann Arbor.
Shawarma Twins is set to open in Milan this year, per recent announcements on social media from the restaurant. It is coming to 37 E Main Street in the main downtown area. Co-Owner Ash Debian told What Now Detroit he is waiting on paperwork and inspections to finish for opening.
The restaurant is being introduced by Ash and his brother. The menu hasn’t been revealed, but customers can expect shawarma, which contains meats seasoned and cooked on a rotisserie. It is described as authentic Middle Eastern shawarma with a “modern twist,” grilled on a flat top with marinades and sauces.
“Whether you’re craving tender beef, juicy chicken or bold lamb dishes, every bite is packed with freshness and flavor,” says the Facebook post. Also in the post, kebabs are displayed, as well as fries and vegetables on the side.
Shawarma Twins is going in next to Pepper’s Mexican Grill Milan, and across the street from Life is Sweet Bakery & Cafe. This is near the corner of Ferman and E Main streets. The space the twins are occupying has been empty since this summer.
