The northern suburb will soon have a new Thai spot downtown.
Blue Mango Authentic Thai Cuisine will be the newest restaurant coming to downtown Royal Oak, said a recent report from Crain’s Detroit Business This is going in the former La Feast restaurant space that had been around since February. The owner, Chananpat Stevens, told What Now Detroit there is no estimated date of opening yet.
According to Stevens, the menu is already set up, but it has not been released yet. It is expected to have traditional Thai dishes such as pad Thai. Stevens has been involved in the restaurant industry for five years, previously opening Thai Princess across the state.
Blue Mango is at a busy location in downtown Royal Oak. It will be next to Big Thanks Bakery, and close to other restaurants including Blue Goat, Tom’s Oyster Bar, Ale Mary’s Beer Hall, and Mesa Tacos and Tequila. Construction and permitting are expected to be the next phases for the restaurant.
The time La Feast was in downtown was relatively short-lived as it arrived in early 2025. It closed earlier this summer, and there was no message on the business’s social media about the closure.
This is in the early planning stages, and more information on the restaurant will be released closer to the opening.
