A popular pizza restaurant based in Rochester Hills is expanding into Shops at Shelby Township off Market Street. Rochester Hills-based NY Pizza Pie has leased a 1,620-square-foot retail space on the first floor of the center at 45147-45231 Market St in Shelby. The new location is anticipated to open sometime later this year in Q4.

Previously known as 112 Pizzeria Bistro, the NY Pizza Pie brand was founded and overseen by CEO and operator Achille Dinello. Dinello rebranded 112 Pizzeria Bistro to the current brand in April, 2023, and has since been working on growing the concept.

“New York Pizza Pie has earned a reputation for the best New York-style pizza outside of New York,” the brand states on its website.

In addition to the classic cheese and pepperoni New York-style pizzas, NY Pizza Pie also carries a list of specialty pizzas, as well as wings, calzones, pasta, and desserts. The pizzas are available in 14″, 18″, or by the slice with a gluten-free crust option.

For the next few years, Dinello is dedicated to growing the brand’s presence throughout Michigan with multiple regional markets in consideration. The upcoming location in Shelby will be owned and operated by Dinello directly as a corporate location, however, Dinello also looks to bring on more franchisees to truly expand the brand’s reach.

“We are really excited to grow the brand with both corporate and franchised locations. We like the Chesterfield, West Bloomfield, St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe, and Plymouth markets for possible next locations,” Dinello told What Now Detroit in an email.

Individuals interested in exploring franchising opportunities with NY Pizza Pie should reach out via the brand’s franchising page. According to Dinello, the upcoming Shelby Township restaurant is anticipated to open in the next 4 to 6 months, in the fourth quarter of 2024.
