A chef and real estate agent is bringing a new comfort food option to the Rivertown Crossings Mall.

The owner of Only Pans Cafe, Alecia Winters, recently announced her new restaurant concept is coming to the Grandville mall’s food court at 3700 Rivertown Parkway. She has been running the company as a bakery since 2021, serving specialty cakes and pastries. Winters told What Now Detroit she is hoping to open her location around the end of July or beginning of August.

The business has already been cooking for the community at pop-ups, serving items like Louisiana gumbo, steak-filled tacos and chicken entrees. For the new location, they will serve chicken marsala, pasta and macaroni dishes, as well as sandwiches with fresh sourdough bread. This will mainly be Southern cuisine.

“I’ve been working behind the scenes and it’s finally happening…and I cannot WAIT to serve y’all,” Winters says in a recent post.

Winters is already a known name in the culinary world as she was a contestant on season 9 of MasterChef, hosted by Gordon Ramsay. During the episode, she cooked up some of her signature fusion dishes and pastries, and came in 19th place.

Only Pans will join many other dining concepts at the mall including Anna’s House, China Experience, Red Robin and Olive Garden. A mock-up image of the signage was recently posted, and the owners are preparing the kitchen for its debut. Many online are expressing excitement about the new project.

Winters said she will be providing more updates on the grand opening date for Only Pans Cafe on the business’s Facebook page.
