Chef Anthony Lombardo is not done introducing new and exciting concepts to Detroit’s neighborhoods.
Detroit Free Press recently reported on Medusa coming to Midtown at 644 Selden Street. This will be a Sicilian concept that is under construction right now. Lombardo told What Now Detroit he will be opening the restaurant sometime this winter.
“At Medusa, we honor this rich, complex heritage by bringing the dynamic flavors of Sicily to the heart of Detroit,” says the description on their website.
Lombardo is teaming up with sommelier Javen Servo, bar manager Brandon Page, director of hospitality Natalie Demuth and executive chef Scott Overall, who was also chef de cuisine for SheWolf. The theming of the inside looks to be Southern Italian, coinciding with the cuisine that will be served.
Medusa will differ from SheWolf which serves Roman cuisine and features a pastaficio at 438 Selden Street. Lombardo specializes in creating pastas with vegetables and peppers to pair with wines. The new concept will be just down the road from SheWolf.
Right now, the business is hiring for staff in front of house and back of house. More information can be found on their website.
