Husband-and-wife coffee brewers are getting ready to unveil their brick-and-mortar location for the college town soon.
Hazel Coffee Co owners Hailey and Bryan Caragay have an official address for their shop at 2111 Packard Street, Suite 130. This is at the same building as the Core Collective Pilates studio. Hailey told What Now Detroit there is not a set opening date as building inspections still need to happen.
The two have been driving their 1950s Red Dale camper coffee cart around Michigan to showcase their brews. They first started as a cold brew setup area in Austin, Texas before moving back to Michigan. Now in Ann Arbor and traveling around the Detroit area, their goal was to have a permanent location to serve locals.
“We were really looking for kind of a prep space,” Caragay said.
The drinks served from their cart and at pop-ups include lattes, matcha lattes, hot tea and hot coco. The team is experimenting with the menu and will reveal the brews at a later time. Their coffee maker is now plugged in at the new location.
Hailey plans to have additional baristas working at the location. The building is at the corner of Packard Street and Anderson Avenue, across from the Ann Arbor classic Fraser’s Pub. Madras Masala Restaurant is also at the other corner, and this is in the Bryant Pattengil East neighborhood.
Those passing by on Packard street will be able to see the owners putting the finishing touches on their coffee shop. For more information on the opening of Hazel Coffee, visit their Instagram @hazelcoffeeco.
