Rock N Roll Sushi to Open First Michigan Location in Dearborn

Local multi-unit franchisees are partnering with the company's CEO to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to Michigan.

Rock N Roll Sushi, a high-end American-Japanese fusion brand based in Alabama, is expanding into Michigan with its first franchised location in Dearborn. The restaurant is anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2025. This story was first seen in Restaurant News.

Local franchisees Hicham Bazzi and his partner Silvia Maruncic are successful multi-unit Tropical Smoothie Cafe franchisees. Meanwhile, Rock N Roll Sushi’s CEO Craig LeMieux, who helped develop over 150 Tropical Smoothie Cafe stores prior to joining Rock N Roll.

“I’m friends with Craig, who got us into the Tropical Smoothie business. I first saw a post about Rock N Roll on his Facebook. We’re friends but we haven’t talked for a while. The post got us having conversations. I believe Rock N Roll will do great things under Craig’s leadership.” Bazzi told What Now Detroit over the phone.

While an address has not been confirmed, Bazzi mentioned they might be looking along Michigan Ave in west Dearborn. The Dearborn location will offer various rolls, hibachi, and inventive appetizers. Bazzi also highlighted that the Dearborn location will have a halal menu to cater to the local community.

Founded in 2010 by husband-and-wife duo Lance and Gerri Mach Hallmark in Mobile, Alabama, Rock N Roll Sushi is the original American-style sushi restaurant founded on great food, true love and rock ‘n’ roll music. It’s the only theme-restaurant in the world where local and loyal fans can experience the rock they love and the rolls they love with the ones they love.
