The small Michigan town closer to the border of Ohio than Detroit is getting a new coffee shop soon.

The owner of Serendipity Java, Amy Pelleteri, will soon be opening the shop at 74 E Center Street. This is going in on the north side of Petersburg. According to Pelleteri, there is not yet an opening date.

“Hey Petersburg MI, something new is brewing,” says the description on their Facebook page.

The business has been involved with the community prior to opening, offering gift baskets and water in front of the storefront in July. In April, the owners performed an interior demolition of the space which used to be a tanning salon. The space has been redesigned since this summer.

Petersburg is located an hour southwest of Detroit off of Route 23. It is next to Petersburg Branch Library and two buildings down from Walnut Grill & Tavern. This will be one of the few coffee shops in the town.

A menu of drinks and pastries will be released at a later time. For more information on the coffee shop, visit their Facebook page.
