It was only last summer that What Now reported on plans by Pennsylvania convenience store chain Sheetz to open its first location in Metro Detroit. It opened last August, and now the chain has announced three new locations planned for the area, according to coverage by Crains Detroit.
The locations will include the following locales:
- Orion Township, opening at 4160 S Lapeer Road
- Belleville, opening at 7565 Haggerty Road
- Shelby Township, opening at 48825 Van Dyke Ave.
Additional locations are also in the works: indeed, the Crains coverage says 50-60 locations are planned over the course of the next five or six years.
Operating as a kind of gas-station-meets-convenience-store-meets-fast-food-joint, Sheetz serves a menu of food offerings like the Big Mozz Burger (a burger served with mozzarella sticks, provolone, and marinara) and the Boss Bacon Burger (Boom Boom, Red Onions, Lettuce, Bacon, American Cheese, Mayo, Mustard). And that’s only the beginning of a menu that includes “Saladz,” “Sliderz & Shnack Wrapz,” “Subz, Sandwiches & Wrapz,” and more.
What Now reached out to Sheetz Executive Vice President of Operations Adam Sheetz on Thursday to inquire about the rollout for Sheetz’s massive expansion in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. Sheetz was not immediately available for comment.
