Ann Arbor is getting a barbecue option with dine-in, catering and delivery soon.
Slows Bar BQ recently announced they are expanding to a third location in Ann Arbor at 207 E Washington Street. This is going in place of the former Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery. Managing Director of Slows Bar BQ Terry Perrone told What Now Detroit there is no opening date set yet for the new restaurant.
Slows is known for their pork grinds, brisket and sandwich options. The original location has been serving the community at 2138 Michigan Avenue in Corktown. Now, they are getting ready to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
What Now Detroit previously reported in April on Slows Bar BQ opening a new location at 3087 12 Mile Road in Berkley. This location is not yet open, but it is slated for the fall right now.
“Get ready for award-winning barbecue, iconic sides, great beers and drinks and first-class catering from our brand new home in Ann Arbor,” says the post on their Facebook page. Both founders, Terry and Brian Perrone, are University of Michigan alumni.
The barbecue restaurant also operates a food truck that has a presence in Ann Arbor including at the SummerFests and art fairs. They have participated in the tailgates before University of Michigan football games. At 3 p.m. this Saturday, they will have their food truck available during the Charity Tailgate at 327 E Hoover Avenue before the New Mexico game.
