Street Beet Opening New Spot In Downtown Birmingham

Following news of expansion to Corktown, another location from the restaurant is coming soon.

Street Beet is making headlines again as they are expanding to Birmingham later this year.

It was recently reported by Detroit Metro Times that the vegan-based sandwich shop Street Beet is coming to 233 N Old Woodward Avenue. This is right in downtown Birmingham across from Emagine Palladium. The new restaurant will be their third location.

Street Beet is currently in midtown Detroit at 4626 3rd Avenue. What Now Detroit previously reported that the restaurant is expanding to Corktown at 1800 Michigan Avenue this year. The Corktown location is expected to open by the end of July.

“We can make the world a better place, one fried ‘chicken’ sandwich at a time,” said Owner Meghan Shaw in a press release.

The menu has many plant-based items like their crunchy wrap, smashburger, crispy chicken sandwich and corny island pita with tofu. For drinks, there is soda, olipop, coffees and milkshakes.

“Everything is vegan but you don’t have to be!” Says the slogan on their website.

According to the article, the owners are also planning locations in Rochester and Ann Arbor. The Birmingham restaurant will be inside a grocery store at the site, and there will be a walk-up window for carry out orders. It is reported Street Beet partnered with a hedge fund to help boost the brand name.
