Douglas’ leading healthy eatery, Farmhouse Deli, has wrapped up a major renovation that expanded the restaurant to double its previous size, according to a Holland Sentinel article republished on Yahoo Finance. Owner and chef Christine Ferris planned to renovate years ago when she bought the building four to five years ago, but the Covid-19 pandemic put a hold on everything and prompted Ferris to rethink on what she truly wanted the business to bring to the community.
The renovation became a possibility when the neighboring businesses, LadyHawk Nutrition and The Pilates Hive emptied the building at 100 Bluestar Highway. Demolition of the building began in January and Farmhouse Deli stayed open throughout most of the renovation other than a brief closure during September.
Now that the renovation has been completed, Farmhouse Deli is welcoming the community with a dining area twice the previous size, a new retail area, and a kitchen that has quadrupled.
Established in 2013, Farmhouse Deli has served the community consistently. The eatery focuses on using fresh ingredients they source locally when possible. The menu includes sandwiches, a large deli case, organic coffee, juice, etc., providing healthy dine-in and to-go options.
