Good Truckin’ Diner, having served REO Town since 2014, has outgrown its current space at 1107 S Washington Ave and is planning to relocate to The Creole building at 1218 Turner St. in Old Town. Owner Nick Sinicropi told What Now Detroit that he is getting the new space ready and anticipates to fully move over by February 2025.

“A farewell to an 850 sq. ft. building, to wonky bar stools and open-door drafts, to hour-long waits and a farewell to REO town, well sort of…” the diner announced on Facebook, reassuring loyal patrons that “this isn’t a farewell to Good Truckin’ or our amazing family of diners and followers. It’s just a fresh start in a big building that will welcome you with new barstools, fancy drinks, a functioning ice machine, the food you love and a whole lot more!”

Good Truckin’ Diner currently only serves breakfast and lunch, especially given the space’s limited capacity. After the relocation, the diner will expand its menu to include dinner items. The new 3,000-square-foot space will also allow the diner to have more than 85 seats available. The new dinner menu will feature seasonal items that rotate weekly. Sinicropi also plans to add a cafe aspect to the diner, which will carry specialty coffees and grab-and-go options.

Once the current space on S Washington Avenue is vacant, Sinicropi plans to turn it into a small bakery and dessert shop.

“I think we’ll just call it Good Truckin’ Food.” Sinicropi told What Now Detroit over the phone, adding he hopes to open the bakery by April 2025.
