A cozy Detroit diner, Rose’s Fine Food, is reopening this spring following its closing in 2023, owner and co-founder Molly Mitchell announced on Instagram.

Once the restaurant is reopened at 10551 E. Jefferson Ave., potentially by the end of May, Mitchell plans to serve breakfast, lunch and breads and pastries while offering the space in the evenings for hopeful restaurant owners and pop-up chefs, The Detroit News reported.

Mitchell originally opened Rose’s in 2014 with her cousin, “serving rainbow trout lightly pan fried and sandwiched between homemade slices of bread spread with a thick layer of lemony aioli, Garlicky beans and eggs showered in fresh herbs (a long time favorite of mine) my grandfather’s pancakes, and of course the classic breakfast plate with eggs your way,” Mitchell wrote on her Substack.

While Mitchell works on reopening Rose’s, she is doing a collaboration with BON BON BON!, a local business that has several locations, offering a “diner style” bon collection. Proceeds from the collaboration will support the reopening of Rose’s.

According to The Detroit News, Mitchell decided to reopen after falling back in love with the building and hosting a birthday party for a friend, adding that she will be conducting fundraising efforts as well for the project.
