An exciting concept called SILVA is on its way to Grand Rapids. Situated inside Riverfront Fitness Center at 975 Ottawa Ave. N.W., SILVA’s restaurant portion is anticipated to open in July or August of 2024. The building was also used as this year’s Art Prize venue, which provided the public with a sneak peek of SILVA’s future event venue capability.

Silva is spearheaded by Mark Secchia, Owner, and Sarah Andro, Operational Director. The new concept marries recreational fun and an elevated dining experience with a focus on community building. The concept was born from Secchia’s original plan to develop a bocce entertainment center in Silicon Valley. Instead, the pandemic helped Secchia to pivot and bring the idea to Grand Rapids, his hometown.

Secchia plans to open Silva in phases, starting with restaurant operations in July or August of 2024, followed by other developments making full use of the historical building and its many amenities. Eventually, the building will include a restaurant, bar, private event space, and state-of-the-art bocce courts.

By the time of this coverage, a representative from Silva was not available for comments.

The news of Silva was originally covered by Crain’s Grand Rapids.
