Washed Up Coffee is set to join the awaited Street Beet Corktown location sometime this summer.
It was previously reported by What Now Detroit that the vegan sandwich shop Street Beet will be opening at the former Bobcat Bonnie’s space, 1800 Michigan Avenue, and would be joined by a new coffee shop called Washed Up Coffee. Now, the shop owners have confirmed they will be opening soon at this location.
In a recent Instagram post, one of the owners Emily Potter uploaded an updated picture of the side wall for Washed Up Coffee. It features words such as “arcade,” “shakes & malts” and “brunch and dinner.” This is at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Harrison Street.
Both of the owners, Potter and Amelie Boulanger, have previous experience at coffee shops around the city. Their menu has not been released, but different kinds of coffee from around the world can be expected, along with food items. They are already selling merchandise including t-shirts, coffee cans, hoodies, baseball caps and tote bags.
“Expect to see multiple offerings from around the world on rotation every quarter!” Says a description on their website.
When contacted, the owners of Washed Up Coffee told What Now Detroit there is not a set opening date, but they will know “in about a month or so.” They will be updating their social media for future news.
