The Michigan restaurant known for serving quality chicken is returning to the Lansing area very soon.
From Lansing State Journal, Yaya’s Flame Broiled Chicken is returning to the city, this time opening at 724 Clippert Street and with the new name Yaya’s Kitchen. This follows the closure of their 3011 E Saginaw Street location in 2023. Owner Dielli Husen told What Now Detroit he is hoping to open by the end of the month.
Originally starting in Flint, the chicken shop is known for their sandwiches, salads and even chicken noodle soup. They advertise their birds as never frozen, never battered, never fried in grease and never marinated in oil. For the new Lansing location, it will have all the same menu items.
Husen said that issues with the health department are causing a delay in the restaurant debuting. He added construction also took longer than expected, but the opening is “imminent.”
Yaya’s Kitchen will be sharing the plaza with the upcoming Bubbakoo’s Burritos, opening Jan. 30, as well as The Kung-Fu dim sum restaurant. A Burger King is next to the building, and this is just north of Frandor Shopping Center.
The new location will be company-owned, and cities with Yaya’s Chicken restaurants include Flint, Grand Blanc, Ypsilanti and Saginaw. No social media has been set up for the new restaurant as of yet.
