Yemeni coffee and tea will soon be served in Rochester Hills.
When searching for Cascara Coffee Company at 1420 N Rochester Road, the shop is listed as opening in August. According to owner Yusef Saleh, the opening date may be further out. It was first announced in April that they would be opening a new space.
“We can’t wait to welcome you to our coffee shop, where you’ll find everything from rich coffee, traditional Yemeni tea to refreshers, organic matcha, desserts and pastries,” says the Facebook post. The coffee served will be traditional Yemeni coffees, which are flavored with sweet ingredients as well as dried fruit or spice.
A local to Detroit, Salaeh said he frequently visits the Rochester Hills area, and looking around he saw it was a desirable suburb to set up shop. This has been in the works for about a year.
Cascara will be going in next to other restaurants and shops in the City Walk business center. This includes Pita Way – Rochester Mediterranean and Nektar Juice Bar, with Hamlin Pub located across the parking lot. This is a commercial area of the city.
In the Facebook post about the grand opening, the business owner was asking for those interested in working with the coffee shop to reach out, as well as businesses wanting to host pop-ups of their food at the grand opening. The date for the event is yet to be announced.
Social media accounts for the business are not yet set up, and more information will be released in the coming weeks.
