Gulfton Welcomes Connect Highstar Apartments
Connect Highstar is the latest affordable housing project that offers income-generating opportunities through its retail and commercial spaces. Located at 6440 Hillcroft Street, the $33.5 million apartment complex aims to serve Gulfton families across various income levels.
The Houston neighborhood-based property will offer residents a community dining area, a picnic spot, and a playground. Additionally, Connect Highstar strives to come up with free support services for education, health, and community engagement.
77 Units for Residents with 80% (or less) AMI
Connect Highstar emphasizes affordable housing by reserving 77 units for Gulfton families earning at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). These units of the Houston-based housing initiative will have one to three bedrooms. Each unit will feature durable flooring, granite countertops, in-unit washers and dryers, and tiled bathrooms.
Residents of Connect Highstar have access to nearby amenities, including Legacy Community Health Clinic, BakerRipley’s Sharpstown Campus, parks, public transit, and the Houston Public Library. All the details were released through a press release.
