Concept Neighborhood, a leading Houston-based real estate investment and development company, recently announced the addition of Neighbors Pizza Bar in The Plant at Second Ward, a burgeoning, walkable urban district, at 3401 Harrisburg Blvd.

For Chef/Co-Owner Angelo Emiliani, his new venture, Neighbors Pizza Bar, is a sweet homecoming. After initially launching his wood-fired pizza concept as pop-ups on Harrisburg Boulevard and Sampson Street, Emiliani returns to serve 18-inch New York-style pizzas, featuring locally sourced ingredients and a varied beverage program. The pizzeria will operate from Thursday through Monday initially, with plans to serve customers seven days a week.

When asked about the new concept, Emiliani told What Now Houston, “It will be egalitarian and value focused, offering a casual experience with beer, wine, cocktails, and pizza from that neighborhood bar you wish you had.”

The wine bar currently in operation there, How to Survive on Land and Sea, is owned and ran by Emiliani and his business partner. The transition is happening slowly, but is already underway to becoming a pizzeria. Aesthetics aren’t expected to change much aside from a bit of “warming up” of the space.

This new addition joins a vibrant roster of food and beverage concepts at The Plant in Second Ward, including Street to Kitchen, Little Red Box Grocery, POPSTON, The Re-Up Juice Bar, and Eden Plant Co.

The Plant envisions a walkable urbanism, a novel approach in one of the world’s most car-dependent cities. The development integrates the community with a mix of retail, restaurants, and public amenities, reflecting the cultural diversity of the Second Ward.

Further details for Neighbors Pizza Bar, including an official opening time frame, are unknown.
