Banh Mi Saigon is embarking on opening another location. According to a recently filed permit, the Vietnamese sandwich shop is slated to open at 10204 ALMEDA GENOA RD, UNIT A.

The permit also details that construction is slated to start in a little over two weeks and wrap up towards the end of June this year. If all goes well, Houston will have a Banh Mi-filled summer.

Banh Mi Saigon has a location listed in the Sun Wing Super Market on Bellaire Blvd., but its website/DoorDash page shows that the brand is temporarily closed. Nonetheless, the Banh Mi Saigon location coming to Almeda Genoa Road is an exciting new addition to the Greater Houston region.

The Banh Mi was born in Saigon in the late 1950s, before Togo dining, the sandwich was said to be perfect for on-the-go and the hustle of life in the modern world.  Following the 1975 fall of Saigon, refugees brought this staple to Houston, where it thrived in the city’s large Vietnamese community as an affordable, popular food.

Banh Mi Saigon offers a variety of Vietnamese sandwiches, including the Bahn Mi Bo La Lop, the Banh Mi Nem Nha Trang, and the Banh Mi Thit (Dac Biet). The brand also offers noodlessoups, and a variety of bubble tea.

Banh Mi Saigon in Houston is run by Jennie VoWhat Now Houston reached out to Vo, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.

The new Banh Mi Saigon set to open in Houston is expected to open at 10204 ALMEDA GENOA RD, UNIT A, by this summer.
