Tropical Smoothie Cafe is headed to Baytown. The cafe is currently in the permitting phase, and owner Monsour Hijazi hopes construction will start in mid-September. The storefront at 6040 Garth Rd. could open in mid-November or early December depending on construction time.
Hijazi owns another Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Friendswood, and he wanted to bring the concept to Baytown. “I like the area. I like the traffic. I see the growth in Baytown.” Hijazi plans to open a third location in the future, possibly in Mont Belvieu.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe diners can dine-in or take-out their orders. The Baytown storefront will feature a drive-thru for an added convenience.
Of course, Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers a menu of smoothies including the Blueberry Bliss with blueberries, strawberries, and bananas, plus the Island Green super veggie smoothie. Diners can add supplements such as collogen, fat burner, or probiotic, as well as add-ins of peanut butter, fresh ginger, or whole grain oats. Other menu items include sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, salads, and quesadillas.
With two master’s degrees, one from Texas A&M and one from Louisiana State University, Hijazi wants the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Baytown to support the schools, as well as the hospital. “We’re a big supporter of education, and we would like to see the involvement with the community.”
