Houston is losing two favorites, Big Owl Craft Brew House and its in-house partner, Turkey Forrest Brewing, which announced their closure on social media. The breweries poured their last pints on Friday, October 24, marking the end of four years in operation.
Houston’s Big Owl Brew House Closed its Doors
The two breweries were Houston’s first all-Mexican-owned nanobreweries, known for their inventive small-batch beers.
The owners shared news of the closure in a heartfelt social media post, saying, “To our incredible customers, vendors, and community, it’s with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we share Big Owl Craft Brew House and our in-house brewer, Turkey Forrest Brewing, will be closing at the end of the day this Friday, October 24, 2025, after 4 wonderful years.”
They thanked everyone for their support over the years. They invited all for one last drink, saying, “It’s been an incredible ride, and we couldn’t have done it without you.” We want to thank each of you for every purchase, every visit, and every memory. We’re committed to making these final days as smooth as possible, so please come see us and help us clear out our remaining inventory before we close the doors for good.”
About The Big Owl Brew House
The brewery opened in 2021 on Airline Drive near Cavalcade Street, founded by Al and Victoria Gonzalez, while homebrewers Louie Espinoza and Oscar Gonzalez launched Turkey Forrest Brewing under the same roof.
Together, they proudly established Houston’s first all-Mexican-owned nanobrewery. They have built a hub with a welcoming setting for all beer lovers, offering inventive small-batch beers.
In their four-year journey, Big Owl Craft Brew House and Turkey Forrest Brewing have crafted beers in Houston and built a lasting legacy. The duo closed this October, celebrating it with a last pour.
