B.B. Lemon, a cherished Houston eatery, will be departing its Washington Avenue spot (1809 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007, United States) this June. Berg Hospitality Group’s B.B. Lemon, inaugurated in November 2018, established itself as a flagship, leading to expansions in the downtown tunnel system.
Despite the overpouring love of Houston residents, B.B. Lemon is no more a part of Berg’s “strategic plan.” The Washington Avenue-based food establishment announced on Instagram and said that the decision was tough.
The post read, “From burgers to brunches and everything in between, we’re grateful for the memories. Thank you, Houston.”
Invitation to Guests for One Last Meal on June 1
The restaurant invited patrons to enjoy a final meal on June 1 before closing. The Washington Avenue-based restaurant bar invited Houston residents to relish its delicious dishes and tempting cocktails on Sunday.
The NYC-inspired Restaurant Bar Served for Seven Years
B.B. Lemon emerged as a popular eating place on Washington Avenue for its mouthwatering range of offerings for seven years. Inspired by NYC’s JG Melon, B.B. Lemon’s 2018 inception brought a menu blending New York bar classics with Gulf Coast flavors.
The eatery attracted Houston diners with offerings like wagyu cheeseburgers, blue crab beignets, lobster rolls, and fish and chips. Motivated by the demand for its impressive dishes, the happy hour favorite came up with more outlets in the downtown tunnels this year.
A String of Closures for Berg Hospitality
In recent months, Berg Hospitality has been shutting down many other food establishments other than B.B. Lemon. The first closure for this year was at Spring Branch’s NoPo Cafe. In 2024, Benny Chows, another NYC-inspired food establishment, closed its doors in Houston.
Loyal guests of B.B. Lemon can relish delicious offerings at its sister locations in the downtown tunnel. One hotspot is the Enterprise Plaza (1100 Louisiana).
