Brassica is set to debut in Houston at 1413 Voss Rd, Suite A. The Ohio-based Mediterranean eatery has several locations in its home base; the first Houston one is expected to open in Spring 2026.

According to a state filing, construction on the Houston Brassica coming to Hunters Creek started this Summer and was slated to wrap up by the middle of this month. But the Houston Press reports that the opening date was pushed back and is planned for sometime in the spring of next year. The reason behind the opening date change has yet to be disclosed. What Now Houston reached out to Brassica founder, Kevin Malhame, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.

Malhame founded the popular Ohio-based fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant chain in Columbus in 2015 with his wife Katy, whom he also runs Northstar Cafe with, and his brother Darren. The brand quickly gained popularity in the Buckeye State, expanding to several locations across Columbus before making its way to H-Town. There are now six Brassica locations throughout Ohio.

Known for its organic, locally-sourced ingredients in sandwiches, salads, and falafel and shawarma plates, Brassica has built a strong local following and recently secured a significant investment from Chipotle’s Culivate Next Fund to expand nationally, and the brand’s first choice was, of course, Texas, hence the move to Houston.

“At Brassica, we recognize that every decision we make affects the health of our community and the environment on a local and a global scale,” the website reads.

“We’re extremely careful about the ingredients we use. We choose locally grown, organic, and artisan-produced foods not only to protect the environment and to support producers whose values are aligned with ours, but also so that we are serving the most wholesome and delicious food.”

Try Brassica out for yourself when the new eatery makes its debut at 1413 Voss Rd, Suite A, in Spring 2026.
