Bubba’s 33 is one of a handful of restaurants that have been announced to open in the new San Jacinto Marketplace. Houston-based Fidelis Realty Partners broke ground on the new project late last year, and it was later announced in 2025 that Bubba’s 33, along with Portillo’s and a host of other eateries in shops, would open in the new development by 2026.
According to Fidelis, the new development layout shows that the new Bubba’s 33 to open in Baytown is expected to be located at 6649 Garth Rd.
Plans to turn the old San Jacinto Mall into the new walkable 105-acre mixed-use space have been in the works since 2015, according to the Houston Chronicle. Though Baytown announced which stores and restaurants would be coming to the new development, the timeline for opening has moved quite a few times due to a variety of complications.
The plan is to have the projects’ retail and restaurants completed by December 2026, but no word yet on when those spots will open. The shopping center could be completed by mid-2028.
Right now, the new Bubba’s 33 is set to open next to one of its parent company’s restaurants, Texas Roadhouse. Kent Taylor, the founder of Texas Roadhouse, launched Bubba’s 33 in 2103. Since then, the rapidly growing chain has opened more than 50 locations throughout the country. Two main locations currently serve the Greater Houston area: one in Katy and the original one in Pasadena, with plans to expand in the Texas market.
The sports bar concept offers quality burgers, pizzas, and beer in a lively environment, with the “33” in Bubba’s 33 honoring the end of Prohibition in 1933.
While the buzz continues to grow around Bubba’s 33 and its partnering restaurants opening in Baytown at the new San Jacinto Marketplace development, the opening date has yet to be confirmed. Bubba’s 33 is suspected to open by December 2026. What Now Houston reached out to Gina Tobin, president of Texas Roadhouse, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Bubba’s 33 is expected to open in the new San Jacinto Marketplace in Baytown at 6649 Garth Rd. by the end of 2026.
