Chimac, the popular Korean-American fusion eatery, is making its mark once again with a second location set to open at 12320 Barker Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77429. This milestone comes six years after, Co-Founders, Co-Owners, and brothers, Daniel and Andrew Kim, introduced Chimac’s unique blend of flavors to the Houston area.

“The decision to establish Chimac’s second location on Barker Cypress was not made lightly,” shared the Kim brothers. “Over the years, we’ve honed our craft, built a strong following, and proven that our fusion of Korean and American flavors resonates with our customers.”

Barker Cypress emerged as the ideal choice due to its bustling mix of residential and commercial activity. The area’s accessibility and dynamic community promise to provide Chimac with a receptive audience eager to embrace bold, diverse culinary experiences. “The community here resonates with our vision of offering high-quality, flavorful food at an accessible price point,” the Kims added.

Chimac’s second location will stay true to its roots with a menu featuring customer favorites such as signature wings while incorporating new concepts like a “build your own plate” model for more personalized dining. Future offerings may include Korean corn dogs and sweets, inspired by the Kims’ recent culinary research trips to Atlanta, New York, and Seattle. “We’ve sourced these inspirations directly from their original roots, so you can expect authenticity,” they noted.

While exploring advanced kitchen technologies from Seoul, the team has decided to delay implementing robotics. “Robotics is intriguing, but it’s too soon for us to implement at this stage,” the Kims explained. Instead, the focus remains on refining their systems and enhancing customer convenience through self-service kiosks and mobile app integration.

Beyond Chimac, Daniel Kim’s role as a Managing Partner at KNL Capital has contributed valuable insights into the restaurant’s growth. “Balancing both roles has been challenging but incredibly rewarding,” Daniel stated. “At the end of the day, both KNL Capital and Chimac are about building something meaningful and lasting.”

With this expansion, Chimac continues to prove that its Korean-American fusion is more than a trend—it’s a movement. Fans and newcomers alike can anticipate flavorful innovations and the same dedication to quality that has made Chimac a local favorite come mid to late January 2025.
