Federal American Grill is expanding once again, this time with a new location set for River Oaks at 2400 Mid Lane. The popular restaurant brand, founded by Matt Brice, has become a Houston staple known for its upscale yet approachable menus, expansive whiskey list, and warm service.
Brice says the River Oaks opening is a long-awaited move. “River Oaks has always been on our list, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring Federal American Grill to this community. It allows us to reach a new customer base within the Houston market with its dense residential/dining traffic,” he shared.
Unlike the brand’s larger recent builds, this location will be more intimate, coming in at roughly 4,700 square feet. Brice explained that while the menus and whiskey program will remain consistent, the setting will be unique. “This location will be Federal with a twist, aesthetically. Same menus, same whiskey selection, just a different feel with the modern cozy decor. It is a nod to our OG location on Shepherd. Smaller restaurant than what we have done with our last few.”
Guests can expect the same hospitality and service standards the brand has built its name on, with a refreshed interior designed to set it apart from the other Federal locations. “Just updating the interior to give our guests a different view from our other Federals yet expect the same level of service and hospitality!” Brice added.
The River Oaks location of Federal American Grill is expected to open in early 2026.
