Galveston to Gain a Fancy New Restaurant this Summer

The Fancy will Offer Quirky Southern Hospitality mixed with a Galveston Island Disposition

Galveston is about to get a little fancy with restaurateurs Bobby Heugel and chef Justin Yu. The pair are will open The Fancy, a “fine-ish” dining establishment inside the Hotel Lucine, later this summer. The establishment will be located at 1002 Seawall Blvd in Galveston.

The 55 seat restaurant will offer quirky southern hospitality with a Galveston Island disposition. The menu, said to have a French inspired flair, will include seafood and Texas meats for daily lunch and dinner and brunch on the weekends. Entrees will include Pot Roast, Gulf Flounder, and a French dip sandwich made from hand cut rib-eye among others. Rich deserts will also be available. Hotel Lucine will also feature a roof top bar, a lobby bar, and a pool. The Fancy’s wine list will include nearly 100 different selections.

Heugel and Yu are both fixtures on the Houston restaurant scene. Heugel is the owner of Anvil, Refuge, Better Luck Tomorrow, Tongue-Cut Sparrow, and The Nightingale Room. Heugel is well known in Houston for elevating the city’s cocktail culture. Yu owns Theodore Rex and co-owns Better Luck Tomorrow alongside Heugel. Yu is a James Beard Award Winning chef.
