Inspira Coffee is making its move from truck to storefront, with Founder & Owner Justin Valdez bringing his popular mobile concept to a permanent space at 11510 Space Center Blvd in Houston. What began as a creative leap using an old FedEx truck is now becoming a full-scale coffee shop with expanded offerings and a large indoor space for guests to linger, connect, and caffeinate.
After business exploded over the past two years, the brand hit a point where it made sense to make this jump into a stationary unit. Plus, the challenges Valdez ran into with the city while operating the truck just pushed him that much harder to get to this point. The new location is set only about a mile away from where the truck currently operates.
“I love coffee and the hustle and bustle of coffee shops,” Valdez told What Now Houston. The inspiration for Inspira Coffee came not just from the drinks, but from the energy and creativity that coffee spaces spark. “And I’ve always wanted to own my own business,” he added. That drive led him to reroute his career path and steer directly into entrepreneurship, launching not only the coffee truck but a rentable catering bar for various events and weddings. This service will continue alongside the new shop.
The upcoming space, built out of a former tea and coffee shop, is undergoing a $65,000 renovation according to public permits. Work includes partial demo of one non-structural wall and the addition of new cabinets and finishes, while keeping the restrooms and existing plumbing in place. A patio is part of the plan, and the menu will also expand to include pastries and select food items, all kept in line with Valdez’s “less is better” approach to quality. “It was a priority to have a large space where people can stay and hang out,” he noted.
The Inspira truck will move to a new location nearby once the shop opens, which is currently targeted for Fall or Winter 2025.
