Jersey Mike’s is set to open a new location in the Greater Houston region. The new sandwich shop will open in The Market at Katy Park. According to a recently filed state permit, the new Jersey Mike’s to come to Harris County is expected to open at 24818 Morton Ranch Rd, Suite 550.
The permit also details that construction on the new fresh subs eatery will is slated to start in March this year and should wrap up by mid-June 2026. It will be a sandwich-filled summer in Katy, folks!
The new Jersey Mike’s will further push Houston into a top spot for the international sandwich brand, which currently has nearly 20 locations in the area.
Jersey Mike’s started as Mike’s Subs in Point Pleasant, NJ, in 1956. In 1975, a 17-year-old Peter Cancro bought the pioneering sub shop with a loan from his coach. Cancro would rebrand the Mike’s Subs to Jersey Mike’s in 1987 and begin franchising, according to the Jersey Mike’s website. With a focus on authentic “Jersey” roots, the brand rapidly expanded through franchising.
The Ascential Restaurant Group is one of those franchisees. Akash Sandhu is the founder of the group, which is listed as a brand partner of both Jersey Mike’s and Little Caesars. What Now Houston reached out to Sandhu for further details about the opening. Sandhu responded that the eatery is coming, but did not share any further details.
Helping to keep the business growing is Jersey Mike’s Chief Development Officer, Brian Sommers, who What Now Houston also reached out to, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
There are now more than 4,000 Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico, and the brand doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
Known for its variety of hot and cold subs, Jersey Mike’s offers a variety of sides, drinks, and desserts to go along with its multitude of sandwich offerings. The brand also now sells bows and wraps.
