Local Table is setting the table for another family-run operation with Mediterranean inspiration. According to Culture Map, the growing small chain is opening its sixth location in January. The new Local Table is set to open at 3434 FM 1092 Rd. in Missouri City.
The Local Table brand is not the first to come from the two families at the helm of the eatery. Mediterranean eatery Hungry’s was founded by Fred Sharifi in 1975. In 2016, his nephews, Shervin and Neima, partnered with Hungry’s co-owner Ashkan Nowamooz and his brothers Arash and Alex to open the first Local Table. There are now five Local Table locations spread across the Greater Houston area. The entrenched family-run business extends to the kitchen with Ashkan’s wife, Sue Nowamooz, serving as the executive chef for both Hungry’s and Local Table.
What Now Houston reached out to the owners and briefly spoke with Neima, who confirmed that the eatery would be coming to Missouri City soon.
Known for fresh, locally sourced ingredients and eclectic, comfort-food menus, the sibling locations of the new Missouri City Local Table serve neighborhoods like Rice Village, Memorial, and Cypress. The name Local Table signifies fresh, local produce and a strong sense of neighborhood community.
Local Table offers both Mediterranean-inspired dishes like the Falafel Bowl, Homemade Hummus, and Gyros Plate, as well as Southern dishes like Fried Chicken and Slow Braised Short Rib, to name a few.
Besides dishing out a variety of healthy dishes, Local Table also has an extensive brunch menu complete with a variety of mimosas.
The new Local Table is set to come to Missouri City in January and is expected to open at 3434 FM 1092 Rd.
