A concept called Lokanta Grill is getting ready to take shape at 11434 FM 1464 #400 in Richmond. The restaurant is being brought to life by a team that includes Kiyasettin Erol, one of the partners who confirmed the project. While few details have been officially released, the name offers some early clues about what diners might expect.
“Lokanta” is a word commonly used in Turkey to describe a casual restaurant serving traditional, home-style meals. While the team hasn’t confirmed a theme or cuisine, the name suggests the possibility of Turkish or Mediterranean influences on the menu. Whether the focus will lean more classic or modern remains to be seen.
The renovation will convert a 4,141-square-foot vacant lease space into a new dining establishment. Permits describe the work as a full interior remodel, which usually includes everything from kitchen buildout to seating layouts and interior finishes. The space sits in a busy commercial strip, giving it access to steady foot traffic and local residents.
So far, there’s no word yet on what type of food or experience Lokanta Grill will bring, but with construction scheduled to begin in October 2025 and finish by April 2026, more details are likely to emerge as the opening draws closer.
