MaKiin Concepts, the restaurant group that has won Houstonians over with the distinctive flavors of Thai cuisine, is broadening its footprint with the opening of Thai Tail, a new fast-casual dining experience serving creative Thai cuisine designed with Montrose urbanities in mind.

Located at 1402 Westheimer in the former La Fendee space, Thai Tail will offer a creative new direction for Lukkaew Srasrisuwan, founder of Houston Thai hotspots Kin Dee, M Express Thai Kitchen, and MaKiin. New dishes based on the vibrant flavors of her native Thailand will play out against the intimate charms of the 1,200 square foot restaurant with a seating for 24 in the dining room and for 36 on the attractive patio.

“Montrose is one of the most walkable parts of Houston, and Thai Tail is excited to part of such a vibrant neighborhood.” said Lukkaew Srasrisuwan, founder and CEO of MaKiin Concepts in a statement. “Our menu will appear to all guests seeking an authentic and approachable menu celebrating Thai flavors at reasonable price points.”

Tail Tail’s menu offers a creative twist on Thai cuisine. Snacks include the Crispy Wonton Pad Thai, featuring crunchy pork and shrimp wontons with sweet and tangy pad Thai sauce, Shrimp Nuggets served with sweet plum sauce, or Beef Drunken Chili with Spinach Tortilla Chips, a delectable fusion of Thai cuisine’s iconic Drunken Noodle sauce and the bold flavors of Tex-Mex chili. Entrees are Panang Chicken Club Sandwich with chicken breast, fresh lettuce and drizzled with Panang curry sauce or opt for the Green Curry Pork Burger, featuring ground pork and crowned with the renowned Thai Green Curry. No Thai dining experience would be complete without a classic selection of noodles and rice dishes such as Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai. End on a sweet note with a Thai Donut dipped in condensed milk or Thai tea custard dip.

Signature cocktails include The Beach, a frozen blend of rum and coconut, kissed with the exotic essence of jasmine and The Thaigerita, a Thai-inspired twist on the classic margarita with tequila and tropical fruits.

Open daily from lunch through dinner, the hours will be Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m; Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
