On the Kirb is dubbed as a sports bar that’s “more than just a place to watch the game,” as its Facebook page suggests. The organic eatery recently announced in a post that it will be bringing the concept to The Woodlands.
The fifth and largest installation of the rustic, charming dining experience is taking over the 6,000 square feet former El Tiempo location at 6777 Woodlands Parkway, Ste. 100, according to the post. The renovations will also include the build-out of a 2,000 square-foot covered, greenery-lined patio.
The healthy choices food spot has come a long way since its opening at 5004 Kirby Drive in 2016. Owner Joe Arbeely sprang up three more locations over the course of nearly a decade. Fast forward to 2025, and On the Kirb is slated for an October opening in the Woodlands, as its website suggests.
What Now Houston reached out to Arbeely by phone and email on several occasions in an attempt to bring you more details on the opening, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
The Facebook post insinuates that the dining destination is on par for an October opening, but does not share when we can expect a grand opening to happen.
The post does share that the new Woodlands location will have ample parking and their acclaimed organic menu with a “lively sports bar atmosphere.” According to its website, On the Kirb is known for its authentic Neapolitan Italian firebrick oven-cooked pizzas, fresh local produce, organic meats, and organic free-range dairy and poultry.
The well-rounded menu includes everything from organic wings to specialized wraps and a variety of tacos. The sports hot spot also has a brunch menu that is widely raved about. With seasonal cocktails and local beers on draft to turn up any game night out with the crew, On The Kirb has become what it set out to be: more than just a sports bar.
The sentiment is solidified by this message plastered on the healthy hot spot’s welcome page:
“On the Kirb strives to enrich our community’s connections and experiences by offering a selection of healthy, organic menu choices while cultivating a welcoming, feel-good vibe as we gather to watch our favorite sports team,” the website reads.
On the Kirb is barrelling towards opening its doors in The Woodlands as it searches for the next best managers, servers, bartenders, and barbacks to join the On the Kirb crew. Keep your eyes peeled for an official opening date, according to its website, that could happen anytime this month.
