A Katy restaurant owner is planning another concept that will offer guests menu items from the South Mexico region. Owner Adan Hernandez told What Now Houston that Mas Ricos Restaurant will feature seafood dishes on the menu and a full bar.
Hernandez owns Lupita’s Restaurant at 13180 FM 529, Ste. C in Katy. The new concept, Mas Ricos, will be located at 23927 FM 529, Ste. 900 in Katy, about 17 miles west of the Lupita’s location. Lupita’s has been in business for 13 years, and Hernandez said they initially wanted to open Lupita’s #2 in the new space. However, he didn’t want to cause any confusion for delivery drivers, so the Mas Ricos concept was born.
The building is currently under construction and should be complete by December when Hernandez will receive the space for the finish out. The architects recently completed the drawings, and he hopes to open Mas Ricos to the public sometime in the spring of 2023.
The Lupita’s menu features tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, soups and salads, as well as specialty dishes such as Plato de Huilotas, which is two grilled quails. Hernandez plans to bring some of Lupita’s most popular recipes to the new concept.
“We have a lot of customers, and our place is kind of small for all the customers that we have right now,” Hernandez said. “We’re going to have a bar with special drinks,” Hernandez added about Mas Ricos.
