Brian Doke, the owner of Savoir Houston and Patton’s Steak House in the Heights, is opening a new casual bar located at 1343 Yale. This new offering, called Heights & Co Patio and Cocktail Bar, will be located right across the street from both Savoir and Patton’s. Its soft opening will begin on Cinco de Mayo and run through Sunday, May 8.

“It’s a cocktail forward bar right in the middle of the Heights,” Doke told What Now Houston. “We’ll have wine, beer of course, definitely a craft cocktail program put together by a really great team, and then we’ll have a really quality food program headed up by Chef Eric Johnson who also runs the kitchens at Savoir Houston as well as Patton’s Steak House.”

Heights & Co will be located in the former Taqo Mexican Kitchen. As a casual dining concept, it will feature a 100-seat dog-friendly shaded patio. “Most Houstonians seem to just love a fun patio bar with great quality drinks and atmosphere and service,” Doke said. “Our goal was to add to the Heights something that is laid back in nature, neighborhoody, but bringing a high quality of cocktails, wine selection, and food.”

Heights & Co’s laid-back atmosphere will add a little bit of contrast to Savoir and Patton’s. Savior is a European cuisine inspired restaurant with one of the largest wine programs in The Heights. Patton’s is a speak-easy style boutique steak house located inside Savoir’s wine cellar. Doke calls Patton’s “A beautiful and charming concept that brings a touch of fine dining into the neighborhood.”

“Having those two side by side gives us a fine dining element and an experience for our guests,” Doke said. “For me to be able to put a casual laidback neighborhood cocktail bar right across the street just gives a whole lot of offerings from an experience standpoint to the Greater Houston Area and of course the Heights as well.”
