A new Panera Bread is set to open at the Meyerland Crossing Shopping Center by mid-next year. According to a recently filed permit, the new sandwich and fresh salad food chain is set to open at 8845 W Loop Fwy. S.

The permit also lays out the construction plan. Construction on the new Panera Bread in the widely known shopping center will start in late November and is expected to wrap up in mid-May of next year. If all goes well, that would mean the new Panera Bread could open doors by June 2026.

The new Panera Bread is expected to open in just as fresh and good a company. The Meyerland Crossing Shopping Center has continued to expand. According to the site plans created and issued by Capital Retail Properties, sex retail stores are expected to open in the shopping center in the next few years.

You can expect Panera Bread’s usual offerings. The fast casual bakery cafe chain, originally named the St. Louis Bread Company, has been serving up and dishing out a menu full of sandwiches, soups, and baked goods since the late ’80s.

There are now more than 2,000 Panera Bread locations throughout the country, and the brand is continuing to add more. The brand continues to develop and serve new sandwiches, drinks, and pastry items. Panera Bread’s origins trace back to two figures. According to its website, Ken Rosenthal founded the St. Louis Bread Company in 1987, and Ron Shaich, who bought the company in 1993, expanded it and rebranded it as Panera Bread. Shaich, also the founder of Au Bon Pain, is credited with the restaurant’s rapid growth and transition into the modern fast-casual segment.

The new Panera Bread in the Meyerland Crossing Shopping Center is expected to open at 8845 W Loop Fwy. S  by the summer of 2026.
