Qdoba Mexican Eats, the fast casual Mexican spot with California roots, is returning to Houston this fall. The Mexican chain is set to open a location in Humble at 7405 FM 1960 Road E. in late October.
“We are excited for Qdoba to be part of the Humble community,” Qdoba Mexican Eats Vice President of Franchise Development, Lori Osley, said in an email to What Now Houston.
The new Humble eatery will be run by Franchisee Chad Owaida. With Owaida at the helm, the California-based Mexican food chain intends to leave a major footprint on the greater Houston area. According to Houston Culture Map, the Humble location is the first of as many as 14 to come to the Houston region.
“Houston is a city that thrives on bold flavors, diversity, and community, all values that Qdoba shares,” Owaida said in a statement shared with Houston Culture Map.
“I’m proud to bring Qdoba back to the Greater Houston Area and even more excited to expand across the metro area so Houstonians can enjoy the convenience, freshly-prepared quality ingredients, and flavor that Qdoba is known for.”
Owiada intends to open locations in Katy, Cypress, Memorial, and Tomball. Qdoba currently has more than 800 locations in the country, South Korea, Canada, and Japan, each location offering its signature Mexican-inspired food.
Qdba is known for its bowls, but also serves up burritos, quesadillas, salads, and more. Each of those options is customizable, with protein selections varying from brisket birria to vegetarian. While the Mexican-inspired bowl concept isn’t new, with places like Chipotle and Fresh Bowl & Co. popping up throughout the state, one thing that differentiates the quick-service Mexican dining option is that they don’t make you reach for the extra bucks to add guacamole to your meal.
You can get your guac more at the new Qdoba Mexican Eats in Humble when it opens later this month.
