Franchise Owner Emily Lee will be bringing The Bayou City its fifth Mochinut to be located at 18806 Noble Seven Ln, Sugar Land, TX 77479.
The growing brand just opened its 145th location in West Covina, CA according to the brand’s Facebook. With good reason because it’s not your typical donut shop experience. For starters, the donut is made up of “sticky rice,” which makes the consistency more chewy than the typical. From there, the flavor offerings are plentiful. You’ll also find mochinut balls, canned boba drinks, and soft serve on the menu. To top it off, Mochinut is also known for their creatively crusted hot dogs options to include both a crispy ramen and hot cheetos flavor.
“I felt this was a good choice for both kids and adults, and the neighborhood was missing a dessert shop,” Lee told What Now Houston when asked why she chose to franchise Mochinut. This particular location won’t offer the soft serve starting out, however, but plans to amp up to it and maybe offer coffee at some point. A patio is in the works for the Sugar Land outpost as well.
The opening should “hopefully be in another 3 months” if all is approved by the city for the 900-square-foot donut shop.
