Tacodeli is heading further west. The fast-casual taco brand, known for its scratch-made salsas and Mexico City-inspired fare, is expanding its Houston presence with a new location planned for 19346-19402 Katy Freeway in Katy.
This new restaurant will take over multiple units in a fresh tenant building, with construction already slated at an estimated $700,000. According to permits, the space will span 2,393 square feet and operate as a standalone fast-casual restaurant. It’s a strategic move for the brand, which has been steadily building out its Houston footprint in recent years.
“This location was selected for its visibility, large population, and incredible access to a multitude of new guests,” a Tacodeli’s Director of Real Estate, Jason Sexton, shared. “This represents our furthest west project for Houston and our commitment to continue to expand our presence in the Houston community.” Proximity to I-10 and a compelling mix of nearby tenants also played a key role in selecting the site.
As far as the customer experience goes, the new Katy outpost will stick to the Tacodeli playbook. “We will not be adding any new technologies specific to this location,” Sexton added, but noted that they are “continually updating our technology within the restaurant and the ways in which we communicate out to our guests.” Expect the usual rotating “Specials of the Moment,” which change frequently based on seasonality and culinary trends from Mexico City and beyond.
If all goes smoothly, Tacodeli is aiming to open the Katy location by very early 2026, though there’s a chance the timeline could push up into Q4 of 2025.
