Tacos A Go Go, the widely popular Houston taqueria, is undergoing an exciting expansion with not one but two locations set to open this Winter. According to The Leader News, the booming small chain is opening another Heights eatery at 1102 Yale St., the former home of the Lola building, and a new Tacos A Go Go is coming to the Memorial/Tanglewood area at 2231 S. Voss Rd. The latter was where Killen’s STQ once stood.
Founder Sharon Haynes joined forces with chef and co-owner Marivel Gomez to open its first location on Houston’s Main Street back in 2006. Known for its tacos, fajitas, and other deliciously authentic offerings, the two new additions to join the Tacos A Go Go family will open with a little something extra special: a full bar program. That’s where celebrated Houston bartender Bobby Heugel comes in.
The two-time James Beard Award finalist will be making the dreams of the co-owners, and surely Tacos A Go Go fans, come true by designing and implementing a comprehensive cocktail program with a focus on Mexican spirits and family-owned producers.
What Now Houston reached out to the co-owners and Heugel for comment on the exciting culinary expansion, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
There are currently five Tacos A Go Go locations sprawled throughout Houston that have garnered the name of Houston’s “local taco dealer.” In addition to a variety of tacos, Tacos A Go Go offers breakfast, birria dishes, quesadillas, y mas.
The two new locations are expected to have an expanded menu, along with the full bar program and a lot more space than their sibling locations.
Check it out for yourself when the two new Tacos A Go Go locations open this Winter in the Heights at 1102 Yale St. and in the Memorial/Tanglewood area at 2231 S. Voss Rd.
