The Taco Stand, known for its vibrant street-style Mexican fare and house-made cocktails, is gearing up to make its mark on Montrose. Burger Joint partners Chef Matthew Pak and Shawn Bermudez announced that the third location of their popular eatery is currently under construction at 1503 Westheimer Rd. The new spot will blend bold flavors with a touch of history as it takes shape within a remodeled 1920s apartment building.

The 2,101-square-foot restaurant will also feature a sprawling 1,000-square-foot patio, making it a prime destination for taco lovers seeking an indoor or outdoor dining experience. True to its reputation, The Taco Stand’s menu will showcase traditional street-style meats like pastor, barbacoa, lengua, and carnitas, alongside seafood options such as fish and shrimp and a variety of vegan and vegetarian choices. Guests can savor these offerings as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, or bowls, complemented by five salsas and house-made tortillas.

In addition to its diverse food offerings, The Taco Stand will continue its tradition of serving refreshing beverages. Guests can look forward to Agua Frescas, canned and frozen cocktails (including Margaritas and Palomas), as well as Mexican and domestic beers—all crafted with 100% Blue Agave Tequila. Notably, both dine-in and drive-through services will allow guests to enjoy these drinks and meals at their convenience.

Addressing Montrose’s crowded culinary landscape, Co-Owner Shawn Bermudez acknowledged, “I know everyone will think, ‘Just what we need, another Mexican restaurant in Montrose,’ but I think our brand stands out. Taco Stand serves delicious street-style tacos and house-canned cocktails from early morning through late at night with both dine-in and drive-thru service options.”

With its prime location, thoughtfully curated menu, and a commitment to quality, The Taco Stand aims to carve out its own niche in the heart of Montrose. Whether dining in, grabbing a to-go order, or cruising through the drive-thru, Houstonians can soon enjoy a taste of authentic Mexican flavors paired with an inviting atmosphere.

Bermudez and Pak hope to open for business in Spring of 2025.
