Tortas Las Llardas has been sharing the flavors of Mexico City with the Greater Houston area for nearly 20 years. Now embarking on its 20th year, the eatery is set to open a new Rosenberg location in Spring 2026.
According to a recent state filing, Tortas Las Llardas is expected to open at 28249 Southwest Freeway, Suite 5, in Rosenberg. It will be the second location to come to the area and a third to come to the Greater Houston region. Construction plans are slated for February and are expected to wrap up by May 2026.
Elvira Torres was listed as the owner of Santore Enterprises LLC on the permit. What Now Houston reached out to Torres for further details on the new location to come to the Rosenberg community. Torres confirmed that the new Tortas Las Llardas would open next year and referred us to the owner, Omar Sanchez, for further details.
Tortas Las Llardas opened in 1996 and has continued to be a home to capture the authentic taste of Mexico City.
“Our menu is a tribute to traditional Mexican street food and antojitos that capture the heart and soul of our culinary heritage,” the website reads.
“From tacos and pambazos to sincronizadas, pelangoches, sopes, huaraches, and flautas, every dish is made with care and the finest natural ingredients, bringing the taste of home to your table.”
Since its inception, the eatery has opened a location in Houston and continued to enlarge its footprint on the community and its visitors.
The Tortas Las Llardas extensive menu includes a variety of tortas, of course, traditional Mexico City dishes like Smoked Pork Leg and Hog Head Cheese, and a variety of Aguas Frescas. Tortas Las Llardas staff informed me that you can expect the same beloved menu at the new location near the SW Freeway.
