The Upside Pub will serve craft beers and cocktails to the Garden Oaks and Oak Forest neighborhood this summer. The new bar is under construction at 3402 N. Shepherd Dr. in the space formerly housing Tres Amigos Café y Cantina, and Shepherd Park Draught House before that.

The business hopes to become a casual neighborhood watering hole, where customers can order food, beer and cocktails, while watching local sports and special events. There will be 15 taps and a small selection of bottled and canned offerings. A menu is in development for lunch, dinner, and late night eats. Think house-made queso, chicken wings, burritos, and shrimp rolls.

Upside Pub is brought to us by Paige and Andy Lujan. Paige is Upside Pub’s managing partner, drawing upon her experience opening craft beer bars in California, where she helped develop Los Angeles Beer Week and co-founded the Artisanal Brewers Collective in Southern California.

“Every neighborhood deserves a neighborhood pub, and The Upside Pub is excited to welcome the residents of the GOOF greater neighborhood through our doors,” Paige says in a statement obtained by CultureMap

“We want Upside Pub to serve a purpose for our neighborhood — from post-PTA meeting drinks, to weekday lunch for local businesses, to being the perfect third date spot where someone will always know your name.”
