Franchise Co-Owner Trey Nelson‘s next Jersey Mike’s Subs will be located at 1314 S Main St, Weatherford, TX 76086, making this his third outpost.

Trey’s association with Jersey Mike’s Subs goes back to his days on the Jersey shore, where he caddied for the CEO and founder of the company. His work ethic and determination caught the attention of the top brass, leading to a job offer. Starting at the bottom rung, Trey gradually worked his way up in the company. By 2021, he took the plunge into entrepreneurship by opening his own Jersey Mike’s location in Fort Worth along with his brother, Ryan Nelson. A year later, Grand Prairie witnessed the establishment of the second location under the Nelson umbrella.

The brothers have introduced regional flavors, catering to specific markets. The Texas and southwest markets, for instance, get to relish avocado and California sandwiches. Trey noted also that the brand as a whole are in the testing phase for salads and bowls currently in the DFW and Minnesota markets. Depending on the results collated by the innovation team, the extended menu might find its way to all locations.

With a legacy of serving subs since 1956, Jersey Mike’s has always been committed to quality and freshness. Trey emphasized the brand’s conscious efforts to manage its footprint. Over the past few years, the brand has made strategic eliminations from their menu, ensuring customers receive the freshest subs.

Trey’s vision for his franchise ownership is expansive. “The sky’s the limit,” he commented, emphasizing his plans to open and own more locations. However, he is keen on ensuring the quality of each store, focusing on the customer experience before launching the next one. He’s keeping to a one-a-year strategy at current.

Apart from his business engagements, Trey also serves in the National Guard, exemplifying his dedication to both entrepreneurship and his nation.

Speaking of expansion, Trey broke the news to What Now Houston that the paperwork is done and construction is underway in Hudson Oaks where the brothers’ fourth location will be with an expected opening by Spring/Summer 2024. Prior to that, the Weatherford sub shop is estimated to open its doors around December 2023/January 2024.
