Acai Angel is getting ready for its grand opening in Jacksonville, located at 9735 Old St. Augustine Road, unit #16.

The company recently held a soft opening across the street from the Beauclerc Village earlier this month and is hoping to have a grand opening sometime next week, according to owner Matthews Oliveira. He tells What Now Jacksonville, this is just the beginning. He and his wife hope to open five to ten new locations next year once the company’s first site is running smoothly. The owners received a $25,000 permit for the new restaurant in late March, according to Jacksonville Daily Record.

This is a massive accomplishment for the young owners, who started the company at home and has now grown to a brick-and-mortar. Following the quick turnaround of its first storefront, ownership is confident they can expand the brand rapidly throughout Northeast Florida. The first location will move into a vacant space that was the former home of Wig Boutique of Mandarin, next to Solar Nails.

When the company’s first location opens later this month, customers can expect delicious acai treats made with fresh ingredients. Acai Angel won’t have any immediate competition in the area other than Smoothie King and Tropical Smoothie Cafe near Crown Point Plaza off of San Jose Boulevard. Other restaurants in the adjacent shopping center include Mad O Caribean and Seafood, El Castillo Market & Restaurant, and One Night Taco Stand.
